Kevin García a.k.a. Sekev was born in Valencia, Venezuela and moved to Barcelona at an early age. He was influenced by his family’s passion for music like Reggae, Rock, Disco, Salsa and Latin Ska. A few years later he discovered Hip-Hop and electronic music like Goa, Hardcore, and Jungle music on his own.
Kevin decided to buy a pair of turntables and start mixing Jungle music because he noticed an absence of Drum-Breaks in the Drum and Bass music he heard at local parties. The clearly Jamaican flavoured vocals in the music, “poly-rhythmic drums patterns” and true big Bass where the reasons for his Ragga-Jungle selection as a Dj, this way he could transmit his passion and happiness to the public.
After more than two years in one of the most important Recording Studios of Barclona where he acquired a great production base, he decides to begin Production of his own tracks. Sekev wants to expand Ragga-jungle by looking somewhere between the old and raw sounds of Jungle and the sophistication of the modern times Production.
Recently Sekev has been added to the SURCO crew and hopes to vibrate the public with his Dj sets and Musical Productions transmitting joy and madness, making everyone dance with a smile in their faces and putting Barcelona on the map of the international Ragga-Jungle scene. His sets are caracterized by harmonious tunes with long mixes creating new tracks with each mix. Understanding this Dj as a musician with the turntables as his instrument, Sekev will one day “Reign the Jungle”.
